The Aloha Vintage Base Ball Association (AVBBA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to educating, preserving, and uplifting Hawaiʻi’s base ball history.
Our kuleana is to tell moʻolelo, honor cultural roots, and keep community recreation accessible to everyone.
All of our games and public events are free to attend. We rely on player dues and community donations to keep participation affordable and ensure that base ball remains open to all, regardless of experience or background.
Together with Lifestyle Wealth Management, we’re building a community that celebrates Hawaiʻi’s history through play—one base, one story, and one match at a time.
What Your Gift Supports
Every dollar helps us keep base ball and cultural storytelling free and accessible for our community.
Your contribution helps fund:
- Field and park rentals for community games
- Custom uniforms and equipment to outfit our players safely and authentically
- Cultural partnerships — lei, oli, and hula that honor Hawaiʻi’s history
- Free public access to the Kalakaua Base Ball Jubilee and other AVBBA events
- Player assistance funds for those needing help with gear or dues
- Operational costs like website hosting, insurance, and permits that keep the league running
Your Gift in Action
Every donation, big or small, directly impacts our players and programs:
$50 — One reproduction fielding glove
$125 — One dozen 1880s-style base balls or one replica wood bat
$300 — A full uniform for one player, including a custom jersey, trousers, socks, and cap
Where Additional Funds Go
All contributions, including anything raised beyond the $2,500 match, go directly back into the league to sustain our kuleana:
- Field and permit costs for future games
- Lei, hula, and other cultural partnerships
- Equipment and uniform assistance for players in need
- Operational costs such as insurance, website hosting and shipping costs
Every dollar keeps the game on the field, the stories alive, and the community connected.
Stewardship & Accountability
We handle every contribution with transparency, care, and intention. Donations raised through the Jubilee Challenge are used solely to sustain our kuleana: maintaining field access, supporting players, and keeping our cultural programming and community outreach thriving.
