Player Handbook

This handbook provides an overview of how we play, what we wear, and the spirit in which we carry ourselves — with reverence for tradition, pride in our presentation, and a commitment to joyful competition.

Playing Rules

Read Spalding's National League Playing Rules from 1886.

Equipment

The Bulldog Bat Company

Two bat models are approved for AVBBA play: BAV-S and the BAV-T. They also offer a fielding glove that is league approved.

K & P Weaver

A good source for uniforms. They sell a bunch of other interesting stuff as well, but the bats are not league approved. They do sell a league approved glove called the "1890 Full Finger Glove."

Birdman Bats

Offers two approved models. Buyers should request simple finishes without metallic paints.

Vintage Base Ball Company

Supplier of baseballs, but is also a great source for gloves and uniforms. Their bats are not league approved.
